Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking at a young age. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she says. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary love and imparts her expertise in the culinary world as she frequently goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as speaker and mentor. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels so lucky to be able to share what I love most to others.
