Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on October 1, 1996. Her work as an actress is known for Choices (2010, The Heart and Other Small Shapes, 2006) as well as Chrissie Mair's Content House 2022.
Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into a family of actors and filmmakers, both occupations which she has herself pursued. As a young girl and acting, she made her debut in Sergio Citti's Sogni e Bisogni. The year 1988 was the time she portrayed the role of lead in Cristina Comencini's first feature film Zoo. Additionally, she was a part of Michele Soavi's acting cast for The Church. She was Nanni's daughter in the next year in Red Wood Pigeon. It was her career that really took off with Close Friends, written and directed Michele Placido. Cannes International Film Festival received the film well. Her father was in the film for the very the first time Trauma, a renowned Italian horror director Dario Argento. The mother of her, Daria Nicoleli, is Argento's favorite actress and she was the anorexic trying to track down the murderer of her parents. Asia's intense and concentrated style of acting was effectively utilized in the film Condannato a nozze. She also was a co-star in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista in which she performed the role of Arianna who was a physical challenged woman. The role was intricate and challenging, earning her recognition from David di Donatello as the most outstanding actress. In 1995 she worked together along with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte Compagna di viaggio, for which she won the David di Donatello. Asia began directing short films in 1994. She also produced an episode of the movie De Generazione. 1996 saw her directing a documentary alongside her father. 1998 saw her direct AbelAsia on the legendary filmmaker Abel Ferrara. This film won a prize at the Rome Film Festival. In 1999 Asia made her feature-directing debut by directing Scarlet Diva with Scarlet Diva, in which she was the leading actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. In May of 2000, the film was screened across the globe. This film was awarded during the Williamsburg Festival of Brooklyn, New York.
